As well as its many bars and clubs, Blackpool also has a great many pubs to choose from. Below we have picked our ten favourite pubs and the reasons why.

The Lifeboat is one of Blackpool’s oldest pubs. Located about four doors away from The Aberford, the Lifeboat has entertainment on most nights a week, including the famous Bandeoke, where you can do your best karaoke in front of musicians rather than backing tracks. We love it and spend probably too much time there!

The Pump & Truncheon is a few minutes walk from the Aberford, and has a huge reputation for excellence. This is a proper pub. with a roaring coal file and a wide selection of real ales, exceptional live bands the Pump is one of our favourite pubs in Blackpool!!

Reputed to be the oldest pub in Blackpool, it is certainly the smallest! The Mitre is a great place to get out of the throng for an hour, the service is always good and the food excellent. If you are nearby you should definitely pop in!

Buckinghams on Queen Street is a gem of a pub, it has only been trading for five years but has developed a reputation amongst locals for great (and cheap) beer, friendly atmosphere and fantastic entertainment. It has the unusual practice of having table service only which enhances the cozy atmosphere and it really is a lot of fun!

Another local favorite is the Whittle Springs. The whittle is a fantastic blend of an unpretentious and friendly atmosphere and brilliant music. Be warned though you may not want to leave, the music alone is grounds for staying all night long!

Scruffy Murphys is always a Blackpool favorite. It serves great food at reasonable prices, and great portion size. With friendly service and great bands and karaoke Scruffy murphys is always a hit.

Slightly more off the beaten track is the Saddle. Another one of Blackpool’s oldest pubs, the Saddle is almost exclusively local. It is well worth the trip however, with great real ales and great food you won’t be disappointed!

Anyone familiar with Wetherspoons will know what to expect from the Albert and the Lion. Recently opened, the Albert is a modern pub which serves great food and very good prices. It also has a unique rooftop outside bar which is worth a visit!

The Rose and Crown is a sister pub to the Pump. It is a family friendly pub which serves great food and real ales. It has a huge heated outdoor patio and serves from 9.30am until late!

The Ardwick Pub, just around the corner from the Aberford, is a great place to watch sport! It has full Sky sports and ESPN pacckages, and you can watch the football, rugby, darts and horse racing as well as a lot more!

There are obviously many many more, but these are our favorites, and as always these are entirely our own opinions.
